This film may be my favorite of all the films we've watched in this class. I really loved the art style, it's so simple yet so moving at the same time. The character design and facial expressions reminded me so much of old PBS Kids shows I watched when I was a kid, it was very comforting. The use of animation makes us think this will be a kids movie going into it but it tackles such hard themes and tells a really dark story. This story is also one that I genuinely knew nothing about going into this film. I think this was an excellent way to show such a massive historical moment through the lense of someone facing it head on. The only tweak I would make is the way the main character aged. Though I like using the character to show the passage of time, I just feel like it was a bit too fast.
